1. Give an account of how the girl was given a hearty seen off by the couple in the train ?


➡ In Ruskin Bond's short story "The Eyes Have It", is based on the theme of vision and blindness a girl got into the train to Rohana. There was on fellow passenger except the narrator himself. The couple how saw her off were probably her parents. They seemed very anxious about her comfort of her travel. The woman gave the girl detailed instructions about what the girl should do In the train. She remainded the girl to keep her things in a particular place. She instructed her not to lean out of Windows. She also advised how to avoid speaking to strangers. Finally they called their goodbyes and the train pulled out of the station .

 


2. What did the narrator assume think about the girl voice and looks before begining the conversation ?


➡In Ruskin Bond's short story "The Eyes Have It", is besed on the theme of vision and blindness . the narrator was totally blind at the time. but his eyes were sensitive only to light and darkness. When the narrator had in the train compartment, a girl got in he was unable to tell what the girl looked like. But he was gifted his inner vision. He knew wore slippers from the way they slapped against her heels . Perhaps he would never discover anything about her looks . But he liked the sound of her voice, and even the sound of her slippers. Thus the narrator assumed she was a beautiful girl.

The narrator was charmed to the girls remarked and he presented a fine description in front of her calling on memories, that the hills are covered with wild dahlias, the sun is Delicious and at night on can sits in front of a longfire and drinks a little Brandy. The narrator heard the panting of the engine, the rumble of the wheels, telegraph posts flashing by.


The narrator and the girl talked about the trees and animals. The narrator ventured that the trees seemed to be moving while they seemed to be standing still she quietly replied that always used to be happen she then asked if he any animals outside He answered negatively with quite con fidently as he knew that there were heardly any animals left in the forests near Dehra.

➡ The speaker is the narrator in Ruskin Bends short story "The Eyes Have It", This is said about of the womenfolk. But the narrator makes this comments keeping the girl travelling with him.


The narrator was blind but he talks to her cautiously to conceal/hide his blindness. He made bold to speak to her like a sighted person. He remarked that she had an interesting face. He knew that like all girl she would give in to his flattery. So he said bravely that she had an interesting face. Thes words are a tribute which every woman might accept joyfully.

Even the narrator was attracted by the girl laugh her. He praised her Interesting face and was very contious of not reavct his blindness when the girl bit the narrator Goodbye, She stood very close to him, that the perfume from her hair tantalised him. He wanted to touch her hair, but she moved away. Though the girl said that she liked short journey, he was prepared to sit there for almost any length of time, just to listen to her talking. When the girl got of shaharanpur the narrator felt disheartened.



8. A man getting into the compartment, stammered an apology ___Who was the man ? why did he stammered an apology ?


➡ The man was the third passenger in Ruskin Bonds short story "The Eyes Have It", The man at shaharanpur station got into same comportment of the Dehra band train in which the narrator himself was travelling.


When the man was getting into the compartment a blind girl was about to alight from there was perhapes a mild collision between the man and the blind girl at the doorway. The girl have stumble on the narrator. In this situation the man was first a beat confused. But he stammered an apology as a pose as a polite as homely.




9. "The man who had entered the compartment broke into my reverie"---- Describe the reverie here in brief?

➡ In Ruskin Bond's short story "The Eyes Have It", is based on the theme of vision and blindness The train gathered speed. The wheels look up their song and the carriage groaned and shook. The narrator sat by the window and looked into the delight outside. But the light seemed totally dark to him. He was transported  into the world dream. So many things were happening outside the window and the narrator guessed about them. He thought that activies  that were  heppening outside could be a fascinating game.
